Sexual Harassment for General Industry

Promoting a safe, harassment-free work environment can help attract and retain skilled employees. But what is acceptable workplace behavior? How do you report an incident of sexual harassment to your employer? These topics and more will be discussed to promote better understanding of sexual harassment prevention in the workplace, using interactive scenarios of actual workplace situations. Specifically, this presentation will define several words used in relation to harassment in the workplace, review patterns of harassment, outline policies on appropriate behavior that is expected in the workplace and review the students’ rights and responsibilities.

The Illinois Human Rights Act was passed in August of 2019. All non-supervisory positions must complete required training by December 31, 2020, and annually thereafter.

Please note: All classes are offered free of charge to members, however SMACNA Greater Chicago will bill for the cost of the class if the class is not completed within 6 months.
